Founded nearly 75 years ago, the Baton Rouge Area Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (BREJATC) represents a collaboration between the Baton Rouge Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 995. Our mission? To cultivate the industry’s top-tier electrical professionals through comprehensive training.

The BREJATC is part of the largest apprenticeship and training organization of its kind in the United States, the Electrical Training Alliance (ETA), which has trained over 350,000 apprentices to journey worker status through local affiliate programs throughout the country.

Over the years, we have continually trained the best electricians in the industry without cost to the taxpayers. BREJATC students in our training program earn while they learn by doing apprenticeships. Not only does this allow students to earn an income while in school, but it also creates new tax revenue for the economy.

Our program not only advances the careers of its participants but also significantly benefits our community economically. Trainees contribute thousands in taxes annually, exemplifying a self-sustaining model that boosts the local economy while demanding minimal taxpayer support.

Our apprenticeship stands out with official recognition from the State of Louisiana and the U.S. Department of Labor. In collaboration with Baton Rouge Community College, our apprentices gain automatic enrollment in BRCC’s esteemed Continuing Education program, enriching their learning experience and career prospects.
